Hello, I'm Lisa Osborn
I have been using these essential oils and eo-infused vitamin supplements, beauty and body lotions and cleaning products for years. If you have questions or need tips for how to incorporate them into your daily life, message me – I am happy to help.
I first discovered the power of these essential oils when I was working crazy hours as a radio host. I had two gigs at the same time – as a news anchor in Los Angeles (KFWB), and a deejay (host) on a music network playing classic hits of the ’60s & ’70s on radio stations across the USA. I could be on the air at any time of day, and my schedule was different every week.
Not having a regular sleep and living routine was hard on my body. I mostly felt it in my digestive system and sleep patterns. My yoga teacher first turned me on to this brand of essential oils – and I started using them to calm an upset or sluggish tummy, and relax when it was time for sleep.
What are Essential Oils?
Essential oils are concentrated plant extracts, usually steam distilled or cold-pressed from aromatic plants, flowers and trees, and put into tiny bottles. The bottles are small because it takes a lot of plant matter to create the smallest amount of essential oils. Because superior quality brands of oils are so concentrated, it only takes one or two drops to be effective, whether applied directly to the skin or diffused in an electric, cold-air diffuser. Oils such as citrus, rosemary and peppermint can be used to flavor food and drinks.
Plant and herbal medicines have been around since the beginning of time, and have historically been used as healing remedies, beauty aids and to set the mood for prayer and meditation time. I’ve been using essential oils for years, beginning when I was working erratic hours as a radio host. I started breathing in a drop of oil, or brushing it across my pillow before bed, to promote restful sleep, another roil blend supported digestive function, another supported me during times of stress.
Top-Quality Essential Oils
It’s important to choose your essential oil brand wisely. Because these products are so concentrated (it takes 60,000 rose blossoms to create only one ounce of oil), you want to make sure you are using a reputable source. When plants are sprayed with pesticides, or grown in oil with chemical fertilizers, these ingredients are distilled down into the essential oil. In addition, many brands dilute their product with chemical solvents or synthetic fillers. So, shop wisely.
